CRS cement (sulphate resistant cement) consists of : 95% clinker, secondary constituents (0-5%) can be incorporated into this cement and calcium sulphate in the form of gypsum is added as a setting regulator.
CRS is commonly used:
- Base cement for civil engineering works in aggressive environments.
- Concrete works requiring low heat of hydration.
Specific and general recommendations for the use of different types of cement:
- Use clean aggregates, free of organic matter
- Respect dosages and rules of the statecraft for the implementation
- Aim for a water/cement ratio that is preferably as low as possible, compatible with good rheology of the fresh concrete
- Use standardised admixtures
- Avoid early drying out in hot or windy weather by curing the concrete (watering, wet tarpaulin, curing products, etc.)
- Adapt the vibration of the concrete to its consistency in order to obtain optimal compactness without segregation
- Avoid all contact with the skin and eyes.
- Use suitable equipment: gloves, waterproof shoes, goggles, etc.
